Iran protests UN over US attacks from regional states

TEHRAN, Mar. 18 (MNA) – Iran has sent seven separate letters to the United Nations and the UN Security Council (UNSC) regarding the US assaults on the country through regional countries.

Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Amir Saeed Iravani, in seven separate letters penned, expressed strong protest to the secretary general of the United Nations about the US use of the territories and airspaces of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“Considering the international responsibility of governments resulting from the use of their territory for aggression and armed attacks on the territory of a third country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while strongly expressing its protest, calls for the observance of good neighborliness by the aforementioned governments and preventing the continued use of their territories against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the letters read.

The United States and Israel launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on February 28, which led to the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, several top Iranian military commanders and civilians.

Iran immediately launched retaliatory operations against targets in the occupied territories as well as US bases across the region.
